Martha - Registered Dental Hygienist
Having been in the dental industry for almost a decade, Martha has a wealth of knowledge that she uses in her daily tasks at Nokesville Family Dentistry. Her duties include providing dental cleanings and periodontal treatments, helping patients to prevent and treat oral diseases, and educating patients on the importance of maintaining oral health to improve overall wellness. Martha takes pride in relieving the dental anxiety that some patients may have by providing a positive experience from start to finish.
When Martha is not cheering on the West Virginia University Mountaineers, she enjoys spending time with her husband Clint, her family, and their dog Bentley.
Cheryl - Dental Assistant
Throughout the 26 years she has worked in dentistry, Cheryl has attended numerous continuing education courses. These include courses on Invisalign, occlusion, practice management, digital photography, and cosmetic dentistry. She has also participated in hands-on cosmetic dentistry courses through Aesthetic Advantage.
Cheryl’s duties include assisting Dr. Simon with restorative and cosmetic dentistry, taking x-rays, photographs, impressions, and making provisional crowns and bridges. She always takes time to make sure patients are comfortable and pampers them with amenities such as heated neck wraps, soft blankets and music.
Cheryl loves that everyone in the practice listens to patients’ concerns and works to keep them comfortable. The individualized care and special treatment patients receive are important to her. She says, “We love to hear patients say they feel at home in our office. I love it that some patients are so comfortable and relaxed that they fall asleep. Some get emotional and shed happy tears because we helped them achieve a personal smile goal.”
Cheryl has been married for 20 years, has a 15 year old son Trevor and a 13 year old daughter Christa. She enjoys listening to Trevor play guitar, and watching Christa play softball and basketball. She likes yoga, working outside and traveling.
Valerie - Practice Manager
Since she received her education from Liberty University and George Mason University, Valerie has over 20 years of dental office management experience. She never stops learning and growing and has taken advanced, post-graduate training from the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies.
Valerie’s duties include all aspects of keeping the dental office running smoothly. You may find her assisting patients with understanding their recommended treatment, scheduling appointments, coordinating with specialists and more. Valerie also helps with billing concerns by talking to patients about deductibles and payments, providing information about insurance estimates and reimbursements, and exploring third party financing. If you have any questions or concerns, she’s your “go-to” team member.
Valerie is the Vice President of the American Association of Dental Office Managers Local Gainesville/Piedmont Chapter.
Valerie enjoys spending time with her family. She is married with three boys. She grew up in Lorton, VA, but has lived in Manassas since 2001.
